Juice Feast - Day 2

It is almost the end of day 2 of my juice feast.  The detox symptoms have definitely started.  Gonna push through.  I know that all the bad stuff is leaving my body. 

Starting weight:  290.8

Day 2 weight:    284.8

Total lost:  6.0

A New Start and Day 1 of my Juice Feast

So it’s been a long time since I posted anything on here.  I have to admit that when I originally started this, I had the best of intentions.  Of course, just like always seems to happen to me, life got in the way and I completely fell off the wagon and let it go.

Anyway, I am back and plan to post daily.  I recently watched the movie “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead”.  If you have Netflix, I highly recommend watching it.  The movie is a documentary about an Australian guy who kick started his new healthy lifestyle with a 60 day juice fast.  Along the way he ends up helping another guy lose a ton of weight and get healthy.  The movie is very inspiring and I have decided to kick start my weight loss with a juice fast.  

I have juiced in the past and have also experimented in the past with a raw vegan diet.  My plan is to drink only fresh fruit and vegetable juices and water for at least the next 30 days.  I am going to weigh in daily and post it on here.

I am psyched about this and am looking forward to finally getting on the road to health.

Plateauville

Finally did a WIW yesterday.  I have been plateauing hard the last few weeks.  School started back up and I have not been exercising like I should.  I don’t need to make excuses though.  I just need to kick it back into gear.  The good news is that I have not gained any weight back.  The results:

Starting Weight =  295.2

Last Weigh-In   =  274.0

Current Weight  = 272.0

Total lost  =  23.2

Not as much as I expected at this point, but I still have 45 days till we leave for Disney.  I am going to kick it up a lot and see what I can do during this 6 weeks.

We’ve conspired, schemed, and locked down the first five months of the 2012 tour (MarathonGuide.com doesn’t have many dates set beyond May yet…).
Again, we’re doing Do Life 5K/meetup/parties followed by the city’s Marathon the next day (usually the marathon is on Sunday. In the event that it’s on Saturday, the 5K will be on Sunday.)
Mark your calendars, baby. It’s going to be a hell of a year.

Ugh

Ate a few things I probably shouldn’t have.  Been up all night paying for it.  

This is a good reason to stick to the plan.

A missed WIW, but for a reason

I know that I missed my weekly WIW yesterday.  I have decided to start weighing every 2 weeks instead of every week.  I really don’t want to become attached to the scale.  I was actually finding myself weighing on almost a daily basis, and sort of becoming obsessed with it.  Therefore, I have decided to quit the scale and vow to only weigh once every two weeks until we head to Florida on October 15th.  

3 days into my C25k training and I am already having an issue.  I woke up this morning and my right calf was hurting.  I have been stretching, massaging, and icing it throughout the day hoping it would get better, but it is still very sore.  I am debating about trying to do my walk this evening or laying off for a day and seeing if it gets better.  I don’t want to make it worse.

Very well said.  We cancelled our Netflix as well.  You are absolutely right, the money can go to something much more worthy.

C25k

Well, the C25k is officially underway in preparation for my first 5k in October.  My exercise the past 4 weeks has primarily been walking.  This first week of the official 5k training is also going to be walking, but I am ramping up the pace just a bit.  Just went 2 miles at a 15 minute/mile pace which is a little faster than my normal walking speed.

I am really looking forward to this training program and finally getting on the road to becoming a runner.
